Swimming Pool

How big is the pool?
Our swimming pool is 18 metres x 7.5 metres with a depth of 0.9 metres to 1.9 metres.  The pool is a traditional rectangular pool and comprises 4 lanes when laned off.

Do you have a sauna/steam room/Jacuzzi?
There is unfortunately no sauna / steam room / Jacuzzi facilities

What is the average temperature of the swimming pool?
The pool temperature ranges from 84 - 86 degrees Fahrenheit (29 - 30 degrees Celsius)

Do you have goggles and swimming nappies?
There is an extensive range of swimming goggles, swimming hats and disposable aqua nappies.

Do you have swimming costumes on sale?
There is an extensive range of swimming costumes, trunks, goggles, swimming hats, swim bags, nose clips and pool toys on sale in Reception.  We also stock baby changing mats and disposable aqua nappies.

Do you have you pre-book?
We advise to pre-book before arriving, this can be complete online or by calling reception on 01223 712555 with bookings being non-transferable.

Membership

Do we have to pay a joining fee and is there a contract
No joining fee is required and there is no contract with any of our memberships.

How much notice do I need to give to cancel my RCP?
Cancellations of RCPs must be given with 30 days’ notice please email Fleur - fharrower@anglianleisure.co.uk

Can I freeze or suspend my membership?
Yes we can arrange this for you, please email Fleur - fharrower@anglianleisure.co.uk

Can I choose when my monthly membership will come out of the bank?
RCPs come out on the same date each month from when you joined

Do you offer a corporate membership scheme?
If your employer is part of our corporate membership scheme you may be entitled to membership discounts.  Please enquire at Reception for further information.

Fitness Suite

Do I need to have an induction to use the fitness suite?
The induction is optional for users aged 18+ years. However, if you are new to the gym environment and are not familiar with use of the equipment, then an induction is essential. If you are an experienced gym user, it is not essential to have an induction and you will be asked to complete a PARQ confirming you are competent to use the equipment.

How old do you have to be to use the fitness suite?
The minimum age for fitness suite usage is year 9 or above (age 13/14), proof of age may be required.

Do you offer Personal Training?
Our experienced and fully qualified Personal Trainers offer affordable personal training suitable for any age or fitness level.

Parking / Access

Do you offer free parking at the Sports Centre?
A free car park is available directly outside the Sports Centre reception.

How do I get there by bus / train / car?
The Citi 7 bus serves Sawston and the nearest bus stop is 3-4 minutes' walk from the Sports Centre.  The closest railway stations are Great Shelford (2.6 miles) and Whittlesford Parkway (3.5 miles).

The Sports Centre can be reached directly by car, please enter CB22 3BP in to a sat nav and follow signs to the rear of the Sawston Village College site.

Is disabled parking available?
Disabled parking bays are available immediately outside the Sports Centre.

Does the Centre offer disabled access?
The Sports Centre offers wheelchair access and automatic doors to Reception.

General

Are lockers available? Are they refundable?
Lockers are available, they take a £1 coin or the trolley tockens which are refundable

Are the staff DBS checked?
All Sports Centre staff working with children have undergone an enhanced DBS check.

Is there WiFi at the Centre?
The Centre does offer free WiFi, please ask at Reception for access passwords.

Are hairdryers available?
The Sports Centre does have hairdryers in both changing rooms.

Are there showers?
Yes all changing rooms have showers
